Lesson Duration Solo and pair classes last 50 minutes. Group classes, with 3 or more students, last for a time that is agreed between the group and the teacher.
Trial Lesson A trial lesson does not require the student to buy a full course. The trial lesson fee can be refunded up to 24 hours before the lesson. If the student does not attend the trial lesson without giving notice, the fee is not refunded.
Course Fees Course fees are non-refundable, even if the teacher is changed.
Lesson Packages A package of 8 solo or group lessons must be used within 10 weeks of the first lesson. If the teacher cancels a lesson, the validity period is extended by 1 week for each cancellation. After the validity period ends, any unused lessons are forfeited, unless the teacher accepts a properly justified reason to extend the package.
Lesson Schedule Lesson times are normally set at the beginning of the course, and students are expected to attend regularly at these times, unless the teacher and the students agree to a more flexible schedule.
Flexible Schedule Courses In courses with a flexible schedule, the students must propose dates and times for the next lesson, which are suitable for all participants, within 48 hours after the end of the last lesson. If the proposals are made on time and none of them are suitable for the teacher, the lesson is considered canceled by the teacher. If the proposals are made later than 48 hours and none of them are suitable for the teacher, the lesson is considered canceled by the students. If this situation happens again within the next 4 weeks, the lesson is considered canceled by the students, and the students may ask for a new teacher, if one is available, with at least 1 month’s notice.
Cancellations and Absences – Solo Classes The student may cancel a lesson at least 24 hours before the start. The student may also cancel suddenly (less than 24 hours before the start), once every 4 lessons. If another sudden cancellation happens within the next 3 lessons, the lesson is forfeited. The same rule applies for every repeated sudden cancellation within the next 3 lessons. If the student is absent without notice, or arrives 15 minutes late or more, the lesson is forfeited. If the teacher cancels less than 24 hours before the start, the student receives one extra right to cancel a future lesson suddenly.
Cancellations and Absences – Group Classes Group classes may be canceled by the participants with at least 24 hours’ notice, once every 4 lessons, with the agreement of the teacher and all participants. If the teacher cancels, the class is made up at another time. If a student misses a scheduled group class, it cannot be made up separately.
Course Booking and Payment A course booking is confirmed once payment is made. If two students book the same group course or date, priority is given to the student who paid the full fee first. If no spaces are left in a group course for a student who only paid for a trial lesson, the trial lesson fee is refunded.
Code of Conduct Hate speech and abusive behavior towards the teacher or other students is forbidden and may result in immediate expulsion from the course without refund.
Data Protection By booking, the student agrees that their personal information may be processed by Language Coop (Safespace ehf, kt 6508231840) and contracted teachers. Processed information includes: first name, surname, email address, and phone number.
